Spicy Yoghurt Chicken to warm your soul

  • 500g chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Kefalos plain yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons Kefalos Ghee
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish


  1. In a bowl, mix together the Kefalos plain yoghurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the yoghurt marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. Heat the Kefalos Ghee in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the marinated chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the chicken cook for another 10-15 minutes until cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the chicken is cooked, remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  7. Serve the spicy yoghurt chicken hot with rice or naan bread.
